Suffolk's east coast is awash with things to do and places to visit, starting just a few yards from the summer house. Snape Maltings offers shops, river trips, a cafe, an RSPB centre and a world class concert hall, all in the stunning 170 year-old former maltings buildings.

Travel a little further and within a 5 mile radius there's the hugely popular seaside town of Aldeburgh, the ruins of Leiston Abbey, boating fun at Thorpeness Meare, horse-riding, fishing and the imposing Orford castle; built in 1173 and one of the best preserved keeps in England.
Venture up to 20 miles and the list includes Woodbridge, Southwold, Minsmere RSPB Reserve, Framlingham Castle, Helmingham Hall, several cinemas, working windmills, paintballing, go-karting, swimming pools, and more.

There's also no shortage of places to eat, starting just up the road at the excellent Crown Inn.
